It’s official.

We’re homeowners. That’s it! Get out yer champagne (we certainly did) because we’re officially homeowners.

We closed on Monday. Monday the 19th. Exactly one month to the day after our wedding (and also, coincidentally, my parents’ 25th wedding anniversary – Hi Mom! Hi Dad! Love you!).

And honestly, while I feel great, while I’m proud of us for capitalizing on this amazing opportunity for first time home buyers, while I’m excited to make our home there – getting married and buying a house all within the span of a month is, hello, a big haul. Mentally. You know?

Not that I’d ever even consider changing a moment of it. But the problem for me is that, big changes? They tend to make me feel anxious. As much as I love them and I do, they throw me off balance. I feel like my center of gravity has been shooken up. (Yes, I realize shooken isn’t technically considered word but I’m shooken, I am.)

Like remember those spinning wheels they used to have on the playground where you lay down and then someone kick, kick, kicks it into motion and around and around you go, watching the leaves spin up and down andupanddown and when you finally get off you feel like you can’t find your feet? And it’s a little bit of a sickening feeling but at the same time you’re all, “LET’S DO IT AGAIN”?

Yeah. It’s kind of like that. Except with attorneys and paperwork and money. Lots and lots of money. That you part with. That is no longer yours.

And yeah. That’s scary too.

Still. I wouldn’t change a thing.
