So here’s a kind of cool thing. I was crawling my Google Reader this afternoon (as I do multiple times per day) when I came across this post on blog favorite Chookooloonks. Apparently, this month is known as National Blog Posting Month (www.nablopomo.com) which is essentially a friendly challenge among bloggers (who choose to participate) to publish one blog post per day for the entire month of November. That’s 30 posts in 30 days.

Now if you’re a blogger, you know that posting every day – if you’re not already in the habit – can be quite the challenge. Sometimes I struggle to get a post up a week, which equals just four posts a month. I never been much for daily logging either. My mother has kept a diary for years and years but I could never do it. I’d start one in January and maybe last mid-month before the entries started sputtering to a stop.

But. I love a challenge. Especially one that entirely boils down to self control. And I’ve been wanting to blog more, to push myself to blog more. Because even though it is sometimes an effort, I love it. I do. And it helped that I happened to have already put up a post on November 1, so if I wanted to, I could really do this thing right.

And the crazy thing is? I think I want to. So I’m going to give it a whirl. I’m not sure how successful I’ll be but I’m up for the challenge. I think it will be interesting to see what sort of blog topics I come up with under the pressure. I’m only a tiny bit worried about going away this weekend (A’s family is throwing us an Ethiopian party to celebrate our wedding – which is only the most amazing thing ever. I’m talking all-you-can-eat Ethiopian buffet. That’s pretty much all you need to say to get me to fly anywhere.) and Thanksgiving but there are ways!

So get ready for a ton of chatter from me this month. And if you’re in a masochistic mood too – give it a try yourself! Just head over to NaBloPoMo, sign up, and start blogging. Be sure to let me know so I can follow your uphill battle daily blogging experience too.
